What Makes a Patio Door Custom, and When a Standard Size Is Fine
What makes a patio door custom: opening sizes, panel configurations, glass and hardware, plus when a standard size fits and what lead…
ReadThe biggest piece of glass in your house, sized to the opening you have. Measured by Cory, installed by our crew.

Breeze Free replaces patio doors across Snohomish and King Counties in three configurations: sliding doors for the most glass in the least space, French doors that swing open, and multi-slide doors that open a whole wall. Doors are sized to standard and odd openings in vinyl or fiberglass, with tempered low-e glass. Cory measures the opening and checks the threshold before quoting, and PSE customers can qualify for a rebate on qualifying doors.
Two or more panels, one or more sliding. No swing space needed, the largest uninterrupted glass, and the easiest to screen. The standard replacement for the aluminum sliders in 1960s to 1990s homes.
Sliding glass door replacement and repairA hinged pair that swings in or out. Traditional look, wide clear opening when both panels are open. Needs room for the swing and a threshold that seals against wind-driven rain.
French doorsThree or more panels that stack or fold to open most of a wall to a deck or patio. Requires a wider opening and a header sized for it. A remodel-scale door with a remodel-scale view.
Most patio doors are 5, 6 or 8 feet wide and 6 feet 8 inches tall, and we stock-order those sizes. Older homes and remodels often have openings that are none of those. We measure to the sixteenth and order the door to fit, rather than framing the opening down to fit a stock door and losing glass.

A slider that drags needs rollers. Fog inside the glass needs a new glass unit, not a new door. A door that leaks at the bottom may need the sill pan and flashing corrected. We fix those when that is the answer.
They were here on time and did a great job of putting my slider in and cleaned up their mess. Plus there was a crack on the door and they put the replacement order in right away. Great Job....This is the second time I have used them.
My experience with Breeze Free is excellent. From start to finish they communicated thoroughly and promptly. But the best part was the finished product. I had multiple windows and one French door installed. I am so pleased with the results. The workmen were all polite and amiable. I highly recommend Breeze Free.
Breezefree just installed new windows for my home. The entire process was efficient and prompt. Cory has been great to work with and all of his team were professional and friendly. The office staff has also been responsive and friendly. My windows and doors are beautiful. Opening and closing is much easier, and I already notice the difference in keeping out drafts and keeping heat inside. I have only had the new windows for three weeks and I feel confident that Breeze Free will back their product and their work should I ever need to call them. They were referred to me by another window company and are one of PUD's approved contractors. The cost was very reasonable!

Five things move the number: the configuration (sliding, French or multi-slide), the width of the opening, vinyl or fiberglass, the glass package you need to hit the PSE tier, and whether the sill or framing needs work. A PSE rebate can take $50 or $100 off a qualifying door. Cory measures for free and the itemized quote is back to you inside 48 hours.
Sliding doors give the most glass and need no swing space, which suits most decks and smaller rooms. French doors give a wider clear opening and a traditional look but need room to swing. Cory checks clearance and the threshold exposure and tells you which one your opening favors.
If the header can carry the wider span, yes. Going from a 6-foot slider to an 8-foot or to a multi-slide means checking framing, which Cory does on the visit. It is a remodel-scale job and we quote it as one.
If you are doing both in one project, yes. Matching the frame color, grid pattern and glass package across the windows and the patio door is easier while everything is on one order, and it keeps the U-factor consistent for the rebate paperwork.
Doors are built to order and arrive in about 4 to 6 weeks. Installation of a standard slider or French door takes a day. Multi-slide doors can take longer depending on the opening work.
Cory measures, checks the threshold and header, and quotes the door, glass and installation in writing within 48 hours.
