Who qualifies for the PUD window rebate
Your electric service is Snohomish County PUD.
Your home is heated with permanently installed electric heat: baseboards, wall heaters, an electric furnace or a heat pump.
The home is existing construction, not a new build.
You are replacing whole windows, not just the glass.
The new windows are double or triple pane with a U-factor of 0.30 or lower. ENERGY STAR certification is not required by PUD; the U-factor is what counts.
A PUD-registered contractor installs them.
Why the registered contractor rule is the one people miss
PUD's program pays only for work done by contractors in its Trade Ally directory. It does not matter how efficient the window is or who made it; if the installer is not registered, the application is denied. Breeze Free is listed in PUD's directory as Breeze-Free Inc for windows. We are not registered for doors or insulation, and PUD's window rebate does not cover doors, so we say that plainly rather than let you find out on the form.

Does PUD require ENERGY STAR windows?
No. Snohomish County PUD requires double or triple pane windows rated U-0.30 or lower, installed by a PUD-registered contractor in an electrically heated existing home. ENERGY STAR certification is not part of PUD's rule, though many qualifying windows carry it.
Can I get the PUD rebate if my home has gas heat?
No. The PUD window rebate is for homes with permanently installed electric heat as the primary source. Gas, propane and oil heated homes do not qualify. If PSE supplies your natural gas, look at the PSE program instead.
Does the PUD rebate cover doors?
PUD's published window rebate covers windows, not doors. Breeze Free's PUD registration is for windows. If you are replacing a patio door in a PSE-served home, PSE's program includes patio doors.
Can I replace just the glass and still get the rebate?
No. PUD's rebate applies to full window replacement. Glass-only replacement is often the right repair for a failed seal, but it is not rebate-eligible, and we tell you that before you choose.
How do I know if my contractor is PUD-registered?
Search PUD's Trade Ally contractor directory for windows. Breeze Free is listed as Breeze-Free Inc, 6023 188th St SE, Snohomish. If an installer is not in the directory, the rebate will not be paid.
