Insert vs Full-Frame Window Replacement: Which One Your House Needs
Insert or full-frame window replacement? What each one removes, what rot and out-of-square openings change, and how we decide on the estimate…
ReadThe best value per opening in this climate. Measured by Cory, built to your openings, installed by our crew.

Vinyl replacement windows are the most common choice for Pacific Northwest homes because they do not rot, never need paint, insulate well and cost less than fiberglass or wood. Breeze Free installs vinyl windows from Milgard, PlyGem and Lindsay across Snohomish and King Counties, as inserts in sound frames or as full-frame replacements where the old frame has failed.

No rot, no peeling, no repainting the way wood needs every few years.
Multi-chambered frames plus double pane windows with low-e glass hold heat in through a Snohomish County winter.
The lowest cost per opening of the frames we install, which matters when there are 12 windows to do.
Vinyl frames with the right glass package meet PUD's U-0.30 rule and PSE's tiers without stretching.

double-hung and single-hung, horizontal sliders, casement and awning, and picture windows.
double or triple pane, low-e coatings, argon fill, tempered where code requires it, sound-control glass for busy streets.
white and tan standard; exterior colors and interior woodgrain laminates on most lines.
concealed tilt latches on double-hungs, keyed locks where you want them.
If your existing frame is square and dry, an insert vinyl window fits inside it, keeps your interior trim and costs less. If the frame is rotted or the old window is single-pane aluminum from the 1960s to 1980s, a full-frame replacement takes everything back to the rough opening and starts clean. Cory checks the frame and sill on the visit and tells you which one your house needs. Sometimes it is different windows on different sides of the same house.

Electrically heated homes: $100 per window replacing single pane, $50 per double-pane frame, U-0.30 or lower, installed by a PUD-registered contractor. We are registered.
See the Snohomish County PUD program$50 per window at U-factor 0.23 to 0.30, $100 at 0.22 or lower, up to 15 windows per home, installs by December 31, 2026.
See the Puget Sound Energy programAmounts and eligibility change. We confirm the current rules before you order and recommend glass packages that meet them.
In-home measurement by Cory, written quote within 24 to 48 hours.
Windows built to your openings, usually 4 to 6 weeks.
Installation by our own crew, floors protected, old windows hauled away, most homes done in a day.
Interior trim preserved on insert jobs, new casing available on full-frame jobs.
2-year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's lifetime warranty on the window.
A large picture window or a very tall opening can flex a vinyl frame; that is where fiberglass earns its cost. And if the only problem is fog between the panes in a sound frame, you do not need a new window at all, you need new glass. We quote what the house needs.
We've had 12 windows replaced by Breeze Free and have been very happy with the consultation on types of windows, quality of the Milgard windows, scheduling process and timing, installation process and crew, and price.
We desperately needed new windows. 40 years old. Breeze Free did an excellent job. Very kind, professional and careful. Windows are a BIG investment and I'm grateful they did a wonderful job
The Breeze Free team was awesome to work with. High quality and an excellent and fair price. I shopped my replacement window job across 3 different manufacturer-certified installers and 2 different window manufacturers. Breeze Free was significantly lower install price for the exact same windows compared to another bid I received. I also used Breeze Free about 25 years ago on another home and it's great to see this family run business is going strong with the next generation of ownership.

Quality vinyl windows installed correctly last 20 to 40 years in this climate, and the lines we install carry lifetime manufacturer warranties on the frame and seal. The installation is what fails first on cheap jobs, which is why our own crew does every one and we warranty the work for two years.
Modern uPVC frames are UV-stabilized and hold their color. The chalky, yellowed vinyl people remember came from early-generation windows. White and tan stay white and tan; darker exterior colors are applied as bonded finishes rated for sun exposure.
Yes, with the right glass. Vinyl frames with double-pane low-e glass and argon fill typically reach U-0.30 or lower, which meets PUD's rule and PSE's $50 tier. Triple pane or upgraded low-e packages reach U-0.22 for PSE's $100 tier. We list the U-factor for every window on the quote.
Yes. We install Milgard, PlyGem and Lindsay vinyl windows. Cory recommends a line based on the opening size, the style you want and your budget, and brings samples to the visit.
Yes. We record the exact line, color and grid pattern on your quote, so the next phase matches. Replacing the weather side first and the rest later is common.
Five things move the number: how many openings, how big they are, the style, the glass package you need to hit the rebate tier, and insert or full-frame. A rebate can take $50 to $100 per window off the total. Cory measures for free and the itemized written quote is back to you inside 48 hours.
