In short

Breeze Free replaces windows, exterior doors and failed insulated glass in Lynnwood, about 25 minutes from our shop in Snohomish. Lynnwood is Snohomish County PUD territory, so electrically heated homes qualify for PUD's window rebate: $100 per window replacing single pane, $50 per double-pane frame. Cory, the owner, measures every job and quotes it in writing within 48 hours.

Lynnwood housing, decade by decade

North Lynnwood, the 1950s and 1960s

Small ramblers and Cape Cods built fast for Boeing-era families. Original wood or early aluminum windows, single pane, and a lot of them still in place. Full-frame vinyl replacement is the usual answer, and it transforms these houses.

Alderwood Manor, the 1960s to 1980s

Ramblers and split-levels off 196th and Highway 99, with aluminum sliders in every room. Cold frames, winter condensation, and seals that failed years ago. This is the classic whole-house replacement, and it is rebate-eligible in an electrically heated home.

The newer streets east of I-5

Lynnwood's newer streets filled in from the 1990s onward with first-generation vinyl. Those windows are 25 to 30 years old. The frames are still square, so a fogged unit is often a glass job rather than a new window.

What we install in Lynnwood

Lynnwood is aluminum slider country, 1960s to 1980s ramblers and split-levels where the frames sweat every winter morning. The usual fix is an insert vinyl slider or single-hung set into the existing opening, which keeps the interior trim and finishes in a day for most houses. Where the original frame is rotted at the sill we go full-frame and flash the opening properly. Glass at U-0.30 or lower keeps the PUD rebate in play, and we quote the tighter 0.22 glass alongside it so you can see whether the step up is worth it on your house.

They were here on time and did a great job of putting my slider in and cleaned up their mess. Plus there was a crack on the door and they put the replacement order in right away. Great Job....This is the second time I have used them.

I needed a window with a failing seal replaced. It was a pleasure to work with Breeze Free Window and Door from start to finish: easy to contact, transparent business practices, reasonable prices. Will use this company again. Thank you.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask

Straight answers. Anything else, call (425) 337-6357.

Do Lynnwood homes qualify for the PUD window rebate?

Yes. Lynnwood is served by Snohomish County PUD. Electrically heated existing homes qualify when the new windows are rated U-0.30 or lower and a PUD-registered contractor installs them. We are registered for windows, which is what makes the rebate valid.

My Lynnwood house is heated with gas. Is there a rebate?

Not from PUD. That program is written for permanently installed electric heat. If PSE natural gas is your primary heat, PSE's window rebate can apply instead, at $50 or $100 per window by U-factor. Cory confirms your utility and heat type on the visit.

Should I replace my aluminum sliding windows or just the glass?

Replace them. Aluminum frames from the 1960s to 1980s conduct cold, sweat in winter, and their rollers and seals are past saving. New glass in a cold frame does not fix the problem. A vinyl or fiberglass slider in the same opening does.

How long does a whole-house window replacement take in a Lynnwood rambler?

A typical rambler with 10 to 14 openings is measured in an hour, quoted in 48 hours, ordered in 4 to 6 weeks and installed in one day, sometimes two for full-frame jobs.
