Fiberglass vs Steel Entry Doors for Snohomish County Homes
Fiberglass or steel front door? How each handles Pacific Northwest weather, dents, rust, finish and insulation, and how a pre-hung door gets…
ReadFiberglass, steel or wood, with or without sidelights and transoms, fitted to the opening you have. Measured by Cory, installed by our crew.

Breeze Free replaces front and entry doors for homeowners across Snohomish and King Counties: fiberglass, steel and wood doors, single or double, with sidelights and transoms where the opening allows. Cory measures the rough opening and inspects the threshold and sill for water damage before quoting, and our crew installs the door as a complete pre-hung unit so it seals and swings correctly for years.
The right answer for most Pacific Northwest homes. Will not rot, warp or dent, insulates well, and comes in smooth or woodgrain finishes that can be painted or stained. Our most-installed entry door.
Strong, secure and the lowest cost. Good insulation with a foam core. Can dent and will rust if the finish is broken, so it suits covered entries better than exposed ones.
The traditional look on Craftsman and older homes. Beautiful and heavy, and it needs finishing and maintenance in this climate. Best under a deep porch.

on one or both sides bring light into the entry. They need the width in the opening, which Cory checks.
above the door add height and light where the header allows.
from a small speakeasy to full-lite, in clear, obscure or decorative glass, always tempered.
in the finish you want, with multi-point locks available for the tightest seal.
Cory measures the opening, checks the sill and threshold for rot, and confirms swing and clearance.
Written quote within 24 to 48 hours for the pre-hung door, frame, hardware, installation and haul-away.
Door built to order, usually 4 to 6 weeks.
Installation in a day: old door out, new sill pan and flashing where needed, door set plumb and sealed, hardware fitted, walkthrough.
2-year workmanship warranty on the installation; the manufacturer's warranty on the door.

A door that sticks in winter may need a threshold adjustment or new weatherstripping. A door that lets in cold at the bottom may need a new sweep. If the slab is sound and the frame is dry, we say so and fix the small thing.
No. Snohomish PUD's rebate covers windows, and PSE's covers windows and patio doors. A front door does not qualify with either utility. If you are replacing a patio door in the same project, that one can.

My experience with Breeze Free is excellent. From start to finish they communicated thoroughly and promptly. But the best part was the finished product. I had multiple windows and one French door installed. I am so pleased with the results. The workmen were all polite and amiable. I highly recommend Breeze Free.
Breezefree just installed new windows for my home. The entire process was efficient and prompt. Cory has been great to work with and all of his team were professional and friendly. The office staff has also been responsive and friendly. My windows and doors are beautiful. Opening and closing is much easier, and I already notice the difference in keeping out drafts and keeping heat inside. I have only had the new windows for three weeks and I feel confident that Breeze Free will back their product and their work should I ever need to call them. They were referred to me by another window company and are one of PUD's approved contractors. The cost was very reasonable!
Awesome company. Family owned and operated. Great price, great quality and very professional installers!

Five things move the number: the material (fiberglass, steel or wood), single or double, sidelights and transoms, the glass and hardware, and whether the frame and sill need replacing. A front door earns no utility rebate, so the quote is the whole number. Cory measures for free, the written quote is back inside 48 hours, and it does not change on install day.
Fiberglass for most homes here. It does not dent or rust, insulates well and takes paint or stain. Steel is stronger and cheaper but can dent and will rust where the finish is broken, so it suits protected entries. Wood is for the look and needs upkeep.
The door is built to order and arrives in about 4 to 6 weeks. Installation takes a day, including removing the old door, addressing the sill and hanging, sealing and adjusting the new unit.
Most windows and patio doors we install carry lifetime manufacturer warranties, but front doors are the exception and carry their own terms, which vary by manufacturer and finish. We give you the exact warranty in writing with the quote, and our 2-year workmanship warranty covers the installation.
If the wall has the width and the header can be extended, yes. Cory checks framing on the visit. Where the width is not there, a door with a larger glass insert brings in similar light without structural work.
Cory measures the opening, checks the sill, and quotes the door, frame and hardware in writing within 48 hours.
