In short

Breeze Free replaces windows, exterior doors and failed insulated glass in Everett homes from our shop in Snohomish. Everett is Snohomish County PUD territory, so electrically heated homes qualify for PUD's window rebate ($100 per single-pane window replaced, $50 per double-pane frame) when a PUD-registered contractor installs the windows. Breeze Free is registered for windows. Cory, the owner, measures every job and quotes it in writing within 48 hours.

The windows we see most in Everett

Riverside, Bayside and Northwest Everett

Craftsman houses from the 1900s to 1930s, many with original wood double-hungs. The frames are often sound old-growth fir and the glass is single pane. Sometimes the answer is insulated glass in the original sash, sometimes a full-frame double-hung.

Silver Lake, Cascade View and Eastmont

1960s to 1980s ramblers and split-levels with aluminum sliders and picture windows. Cold frames, condensation every winter morning, and seals that failed years ago. This is where a whole-house vinyl replacement changes the heating bill and the PUD rebate does the most.

South Everett and the Evergreen Way corridor

South of the city center the housing turns to 1960s and 1970s homes, townhomes and apartment buildings. We work on all three. Retrofitting existing buildings is the whole business, from one failed pane to every opening in a fourplex.

Historic homes

Everett has the oldest housing stock in the county, so old houses are a specialty here, not an exception. Cynthia W. had 119-year-old windows replaced and wrote that we "work wonders". Cory has worked these blocks for 30 years.

Everett is PUD territory

Snohomish County PUD serves Everett. Homes heated with electric baseboards, an electric furnace or a heat pump qualify for PUD's window rebate: $100 per window replacing single-pane glass, $50 per window replacing a double-pane frame, with new windows rated U-0.30 or lower and a PUD-registered installer. Breeze Free is registered for windows. Gas-heated homes and glass-only work do not qualify. Amounts and rules change; we confirm them with you before you order.

What we install in Everett

Everett runs from 1900s Craftsman blocks to 1990s subdivisions, and the right window changes with the block. On the older houses we install full-frame double-hungs in vinyl or fiberglass with grids that match the originals, or new insulated glass in a sound original sash when the wood is worth keeping. On the Silver Lake and Cascade View ramblers the job is usually whole-house vinyl sliders and picture windows at U-0.30 or lower, which is where the PUD rebate applies. Every quote lists the U-factor per opening so you can see which units qualify before you order.

I would and will use these folks again. I have used them before and found them also recommended by PSE. They are wonderful to work with. I had to have some 119 year old windows replaced. They work wonders. Big Thanks to Breeze Free Window and Door. I appreciate how you go above and beyond.

We desperately needed new windows. 40 years old. Breeze Free did an excellent job. Very kind, professional and careful. Windows are a BIG investment and I'm grateful they did a wonderful job

They were here on time and did a great job of putting my slider in and cleaned up their mess. Plus there was a crack on the door and they put the replacement order in right away. Great Job....This is the second time I have used them.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask

Straight answers. Anything else, call (425) 337-6357.

Do you replace windows in older Everett homes without ruining the look?

Yes. On Riverside and Bayside Craftsman houses we match double-hung proportions and grid patterns, keep interior trim on insert jobs, and can put insulated glass into original sashes where the wood is sound. Cory tells you which approach fits the house on the visit.

Does Everett qualify for the Snohomish PUD window rebate?

Yes. Everett is served by Snohomish County PUD. Electrically heated existing homes qualify when the new windows are rated U-0.30 or lower and a PUD-registered contractor installs them. We are registered for windows.

Do you do window repair in Everett?

Some of it. We replace failed and broken insulated glass units, we re-mesh and rebuild screens, and we replace weatherstripping, rollers and hardware. What we do not do is rebuild a rotted frame or chase a sash balance in an old unit to buy one more winter. On Everett's older housing that call comes up often, and Cory makes it on the visit.

How far is Breeze Free from Everett?

Our shop is at 6023 188th St SE in Snohomish, about 20 minutes from downtown Everett. Everett is one of our most common service areas.

Can you fix the aluminum sliders in my Silver Lake split-level?

Usually we replace them. 1970s aluminum sliders are single pane or early double pane in a frame that conducts cold, and rollers and seals are past saving. A vinyl or fiberglass slider in the same opening is the fix, and it is rebate-eligible in an electrically heated home.
